Neela Ramachandran Bhatia founded Search & Inspire in 2010 with a clear purpose; to bring the rigour of retained executive search to India’s real estate, banking & financial services sectors without the impersonal scale of the large global firms.
I founded Search & Inspire in 2010 with a clear point of view - that leadership hiring in India requires far more than a process-driven approach. In sectors like Financial Services and Real Estate, where decisions are closely tied to capital, risk, and long-term value creation, the quality of leadership is often the single most defining factor.
My work is intentionally focused. I take on a select set of mid to senior-level mandates, particularly where the context is complex and the stakes are high. Each search begins with a deeper question – not simply who can fill the role, but what the business truly needs at that point in its journey.
India’s market is nuanced, relationship-driven, and constantly evolving. Roles are rarely defined by a mandate alone, and effective leaders are those who can navigate ambiguity, align with promoter vision, and execute with consistency. Identifying such individuals requires judgment, discretion, and a strong understanding of both business and people.
A mandate is rarely just a hiring requirement. I invest time in understanding the business, the promoter’s expectations, and the underlying challenge the role is intended to address. This allows the search to move beyond presenting credible profiles to identifying the individual most capable of creating sustained impact.
I remain personally involved in every search we undertake. Search & Inspire is not designed for scale - it is built on conviction, precision, and the belief that a few, well-made decisions create disproportionate impact. It is a focused practice built on judgment, discretion, and a strong point of view on what good leadership looks like in India today.
Every search begins with a detailed understanding of the client’s organisation—its business model, culture, leadership dynamics, and the specific demands of the role, including what has or has not worked in the past. Only then does the search begin.
We combine sector depth in Indian real estate and financial services with a network built over nearly four decades to identify candidates who are not just qualified, but genuinely aligned.
